DIY: Felt Camel Hand Puppet

Hi, guys! Here’s the DIY tutorial for the felt camel workshop I held last Ramadhan in my neighborhood. It surely was an easy project that you can work any day, like at this time of season and on the holidays. Ready to rock this cute camel?

What you need:
Felt sheets, black ribbon, glue, scissors, pencil, camel template.

How to make:

1.    Fold a whole sheet of felt in two, then trace the camel pattern on it using a pencil.
2.    Cut the lines so that you get two sides of the camel.
3.    Trace the eyelashes on a black sheet of felt to stick on the camel later.
4.    Cut out saddles for the camel using felt in a different color. Make sure you make two, one for the back and front. Cut the edges of the saddle making a fringe.
5.    Glue only the edges of the camel leaving the bottom part open (for your hand, obviously).
6.    Glue on the eyelashes and saddle. Now, decorate the saddle using your own imagination. You can make little shapes or anything you chose to make it pretty. Yuara chose to m…

Summer Club 2015 by Club Kembang

It was a blast! I was thrilled to be invited by Club Kembang (a weekend/holiday program of Sekolah Kembang, Kemang) and tutor the pre-teens that registered a series of my dreamesh DIY Club workshops for their Summer Club this year. The workshops went on from 3 to 5 June, and the seats were almost sold out! At first, I had my doubts. I was wondering if home d├ęcor crafts were too hard for the pre-teens I taught. But they were excited and did their works really well (in fact, some is beyond my expectation). Here’s some photos of the fun we had three days in a row at Club Kembang!

Have you read my first trip to Japan a while back? Well, here’s the rest of my adventure if you would like to see.

On our last days in Japan, we all headed to Osaka by train (I accidentally bought the Paletas lemon ginger lolly stick, and it was a yummy mistake!).

We spent the first day visiting Kyoto to see Kyoto Tower and the beautiful golden temple in Kinkaku-Ji park.

But day two was the FUN day! Since we (still) wanted to entertain Yuara and Kutri, we ended up going to Universal Studio Japan improptu where the kids got to see and play with a bunch of favorite characters they love (aka Elmo for lil K, Spiderman for big Y, and Harry Potter for mamo – yeay!). Though it rained that day, we didn’t waste the fun. I mean, how could we, if we got to stay dry in Elmo rain jackets and umbrellas?!

We stayed at Kobe and spent the next day at the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. Being the curious kid he is, Yuara was over the moon to see penguins and many other sea creatures.

Oh, we did some si…
